HELEN MARIE BISGES

Helen Marie Bisges, 88, of Wardsville, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at her daughters home in Wardsville.
She was born on September 16, 1921, Marys Home, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Angeline (Sanning) Bungart. She was united in marriage to Herbert L. Murphy in 1941, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, he died June 14, 1945. On August 18, 1951 she married Frank C. Bisges at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, he died December 22, 1997. Helen was employed with Woolworths, Department of Revenue, and Division of Employment Security. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a former member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church Osage Bend, St. Ritas Quilting Group of St. Peters Parish, Our Ladies Sodality of St. Stanislaus Parish, Perpetual Adoration, Daughters of Isabella, a volunteer with St. Peters School Lunchroom for many years, Samaritan Center volunteer, 4H volunteer, Census Taker in 1950, and was one of the first women to take driving lesons in Jefferson City in 1948.
Survivors include: four children, Lee Allen (Joyce) Murphy, Jefferson City; Arthur (Astri) Bisges, Perkins, Ok; Gary (Dianne) Bisges, Wardsville; Marybeth (Mark) Bruns, Wardsville; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Murphy, Kelli Murphy Small, Kristie Murphy Glenn, Karen Bisges, Emma Bisges, Gabe Bisges, Sara Bisges, Wes Bernskoetter, Kyle Bruns, Joey Bruns, Lisa Bruns; nine great-grandchildren, Brent Murphy, Brian Murphy, Shae Murphy, Tyler Small, Jacob Small, Bailey Glenn, Rylee Glenn, Liam Glenn, Alana Bernskoetter; and nine siblings, Harold (Lucille) Bungart; Elroy (Betty) Bungart; Adele (Lawrence) Lueckenhoff; Eunice (John) Kauffman; Carol (Vince) Schaefer; Elizabeth Suzi (George) Schulte; Etta (Bernard) Schulte; Angie (Joe) Wieberg; and Barb (Benny) Bax. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Clem Bungart.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Stanislaus Education Foundation, 6414 Route W, Jefferson City, Mo 65101; or to St. Peter Education Foundation, 314 West High, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
