Gertrude Wilhelmina Stegemann

Gertrude Wilhelmina Stegemann passed to her eternal reward on October 11, 2015, at her home. She was born on October 21, 1921, in Westphalia, a daughter of Henry J. and Rose Schmitz Luecke. Gertrude was united in marriage to Wilfred August Stegemann on September 11, 1946. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Folk, Missouri. Gertrude's joy in life was to sew and work with quilts. She loved putting quilts together and figuring out patterns for them. In her younger days she worked with the Baumhoer sisters in their shop in St. Louis. She was also employed by Newberry's in Jefferson City. Most of her life, in addition to being a housewife, Gertrude cleaned houses for many families, some of whom became like family to her. Being active was a part of her life until could no longer get around easily. Through various times in her life, Gertrude was active in the WCU, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred (1988), her parents, and her three siblings - Clara Volmert, Ray Luecke, and Lawrence Luecke. She was also preceded in death by four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Surviving members of Gertrude's family include her five children, Judy (Ed) Schulte, Paul Stegemann, Richard Stegemann, Gloria Stegemann and Marsha Stegemann. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Donna (Dave) Imhoff, Daniel Schulte and Kevin Schulte; and two great-grandchildren, Josiah Imhoff and Tabitha Imhoff. Gertrude is also survived by one sister-in-law, Betty Luecke. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, from 47 p.m. at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia, MO with a prayer service at 3 p.m. Additional visitation will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, from 910 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Folk. Father Anthony Viviano will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, P.O. Box 157, Westphalia, MO 65085.
