George Daniel Van Loo

George Daniel Van Loo, 78, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at St. Mary's Health Center surrounded by his family. He was born on February 16, 1936, in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of the late Daniel George and Mary (Van Bost) Van Loo. George was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage on September 25, 1953, in Bronx, New York, to Ann Teresa "Nancy" Ferguson who survives at the home. George spent most of his life as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit. In addition to his wife, George is survived by three sons, Chuck (Maggie) Van Loo, Holts Summit; Chris (Claudia) Van Loo, Alta Loma, California; Mark Van Loo, Northridge, California; a daughter-in-law, Julie Van Loo, Saugus, California; 7 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dan Van Loo; and a sister, Shirley Deliello. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with the Rev. Msgr. Gregory L. Higley officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, Mo 65109; to the American Heart Association, 915 Country Ridge Drive, Jefferson City, Mo 65109; or to Hospice Compassus, 600 Monroe Street, Suite 100, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
