Genarose Elizabeth Boessen-Hohertz, 51, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on May 15, 1963, in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of the late Henry Anton Boessen and Mildred Elizabeth Boessen. Genarose founded Studio 903 in Victoria, MN where she leaves a legacy of delivering beauty, love, and friendship to women all over the community and generous support for the charity Locks of Love. Genarose had a passion for family, friends, fun, love and a life well lived. Her remarkable style, creativity and contagiously positive attitude were appreciated by everyone who knew her. Enthusiastic, generous and unyielding in spirit, she touched the lives of family, friends and even strangers who followed her inspirational "I Will Fight" posts which tracked her courageous and high-heeled fight to overcome late stage ovarian cancer. Genarose is survived by her two children: Henry Hohertz, and Hannah Hohertz, and their father Jeff Hohertz, of Minnesota; 9 siblings: Sr. RoseMary Boessen, RSM, Twin Falls, ID; Robert (Donna) Boessen, Holts Summit; Henrietta (John) Gentges, Jefferson City; Allan (Kathy) Boessen, Troy, MO; Allene (Leroy "Red") Sanders, Jefferson City; Joseph (Ann) Boessen, Fairfax, VA; Eugene (Cheryl) Boessen, Wardsville; Stanley (Carol "Cake") Boessen, Jefferson City; and Mary Lynn (David) Marr, Naples, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Noon-2 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas followed by a service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the foundation that Genarose enthusiastically founded to bring compassionate and loving support to all women with all late stage cancers: She Will Fight, (www.SheWillFight.com); or to the Hohertz family.
