GERALDINE ELIZABETH TAYLOR

Geraldine Elizabeth Taylor, 79, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on May 26, 1929, in Jefferson City, the daughter of William Vincent and Myrtle Bledsoe Schaefer. She was united in marriage on March 29, 1948, in Jefferson City, to Lewis Bambridge Taylor Jr. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1999. Mrs. Taylor was co-owner of St. Marys Radio and TV with her husband for over forty years. During her younger years, Geraldine attended St. Peter School, worked as an usher for the old Capital Theater, and worked for Central Dairy. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Blessed Sacrament Perpetual Adoration; Submarine Veterans of WWII The U.S.S. Fulton AS-11 Association; Womens International Bowling Congress; and was a cub-scout leader. Geraldine loved scratch off-tickets, casinos, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. The memories that were shared with her family will never be forgotten. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and John Cowley, Lohman; Debra and Pat Carey, Jefferson City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Marsha Taylor, Jefferson City; Kenneth and Ellen Taylor, Holts Summit; eight grandchildren, Amy (Ryan) Baer; Heather (Scott) Hoerschgen; Stacia (Jim) Dawson; Bethany (Andrew) Borene; Mark Cowley; Kendra Taylor; Rebecca Cowley; Robyn Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Hoerschgen; one sister, Essalene Brimer, Mabank, Tx.; two brothers and their wives, Cletus and Shirley Schaefer, Hanceville, Al.; Edward and Katherine Schaefer, Independence, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert L. Taylor on July 12, 2006; and two brothers, Urban Schaefer and Vincent Schaefer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert H. Fields officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church, 216 Broadway St., Jefferson City, MO 65101; Samaritan Center, 1310 E.
