GEORGE THOMAS SELLERS

January 18, 1947 — April 11, 2007

George Thomas "Tom" Sellers, 60, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 18, 1947, in Detroit, MI, the son of Marvin Hicks and Ruth Marie Woodworth Sellers. He was married on April 9, 1983, in Winter Park, FL, to Kim Arlene Kman who survives in Jefferson City. He was a 1965 graduate of Knob Noster High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1970 from Central Missouri State University. Mr. Sellers was a public school teacher in Des Moines, IA; Sumter, SC; and Seminole County Public Schools in Winter Park, FL. In recent years he had served as a substitute teacher in Mid-Missouri schools. He served with the South Carolina National Guard from 1970 to 1976. He was a member of Central United Church of Christ and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Other survivors include two sons, J.C. Sellers and Stephen T. Sellers, both of Jefferson City; and one brother and sister-in-law, James M. and Peggy Sellers, Jefferson City. Services will be 4 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, at Central United Church of Christ Church, Ashley and Washington Streets. The Rev. Stephen H. Buchholz will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, 915 County Ridge Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
