George Henry Prenger, 91, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at his residence. He was born on July 22, 1913 in Wardsville, the son of Bernard Ben and Dorothea Schwaller Prenger. A graduate of St. Stanislaus Catholic School in Wardsville, Mr. Prenger was a United States Army veteran of World War II serving in Germany and England. He was employed with Landwehr Dairy for five years, and later was co-owner and operator of Miller & Prenger Bar on High Street from 1950 to 1980. During retirement he worked part-time at the Welcome Inn. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; and was a life-member of Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Prenger; and nine sisters, Helen Van Loo; Lavinia Prenger; Marie Van Loo; Leona Markway; Lucille Landwehr; Stella Schrimpf; Irene Kliethermes; Anastasia Barnhouse; and Amelia Basham. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E.
