GEORGE EDWARD KEELING, III

March 6, 1947 — April 30, 2006

George Edward Keeling, III, 59, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on March 6, 1947 in Phelps County, MO, the son of George Edward Keeling, II and Grace Eva Grebl Keeling. He was married on July 26, 1969 in Linn, MO to Brenda Lynn Smith who survives at the home. Mr. Keeling was a 1965 graduate of John F. Hodge High School, St. James, MO, and received an Associate of Arts in Electronics from Linn State Technical College in 1969. He was employed with United Telephone and Sprint, Inc. for eighteen years; with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for three years; and most recently as a telecommunications specialist with the Missouri Department of Transportation for the past seventeen years. He was a member of Capital West Christian Church where he had served as an usher; Hawthorne Garden Club; and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Other survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Amber Lea and Garry Fletcher, Jefferson City; and Amber Dawn Stewart, Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Garry Fletcher, III; Ivy Jackson, Aidan Foster, and Simon Joseph Foster; one brother, and sister-in-law, Michael and Lynn Keeling, Phoenix, AZ; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Patty Hughes; Martha and Shane Lowen; and Kathy and Shawn McKinnon, all of St. James, MO; and an aunt, Phylis Umlauf, Eureka Springs, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Capital West Christian Church with the Rev. Ken Harland officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2nd, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Capital West Christian Church, 1308 Fairgrounds Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109; or a charity of the donors choice.
