Fred J. Goeke, 84, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1929, in Kirksville, Missouri to Edward and Rosella Aeschliman Goeke. Fred was a 1948 graduate of Kirksville High School. He was united in marriage on May 12, 1962, in Frankenstein, Missouri to Ann Mae Koenigsfeld who still survives. He served eight years in the United States Army National Guard. Fred worked retail sales all his life, starting in his father's shoe store in Kirksville, Missouri. He later owned a Western Auto Store in Milan, Missouri. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Legion of Mary and the prayer line. In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by his daughter, Julie (Wayne) Goede, St.Louis; a son, Nick (Lori) Goeke, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Ben Goeke, Jefferson City, James Goede, St. Louis, and Sam Goeke, Jefferson City; two sisters, Nellie Williams, Oxford, Michigan and Elizabeth Goeke, Portland, Oregon; and one brother, Raymond Goeke, Keokuk, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ed Goeke, Joe Goeke, and Leo Goeke. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. David D. Cox officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to Masses; Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, Missouri 65101; or to the Samaritan Center, 1310 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City, Missouri 65101. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
