Frank James Pursley

Frank James Pursley, 94, of Jefferson City, died Friday, September 19, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on August 19, 1909 in St. Louis, the son of Francis James Pursley and Blanche Coggell Pursley. He was married in 1932 in Richmond Heights, MO to Esther Anna Riley who died on February 5, 1933. He was married on July 28, 1936 in St. Louis to Lucille Margaurite Haight who died in February, 1964. He was married on August 16, 1975 in Jefferson City to Viola Emma Schieder who survives. Other survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Carol E. Ehrich, St. Charles, MO; Linda and Louis Houlle, St. Louis; and Martha and Bob Meyers, St. Peters, MO; eight grandchildren, Christopher Toomey, Julie Sweeney, Lauren Toomey, Cinthia Houlle, Gregory Houlle, Mark Houlle, Kevin Meyers, and Brian Meyers; four great-grandchildren, Meagan Sweeney, Colleen Taylor, Michael Toomey, and Kristyne Toomey; and a brother, Paul W. Pursley, Northridge, California. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Pursley; and a sister, Virginia Moore. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, 3210 N. Ten Mile Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109. Burial will be in Montgomery City Cemetery. He was a graduate of McBride High School in St. Louis, and attended St. Louis University. Mr. Pursley was employed with Ford Motor Company Universal Credit for several years before serving in a glider factory in St. Louis during World War II. He was a partner with the Pursley-Van Osdall Dodge-Plymouth Dealership in Jefferson City for a brief time before opening his own dealership, Pursley Motors on Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City until 1955. Moving to St. Louis, he was a partner with the B.P.B. Pontiac Dealership. From 1960 until his retirement in 1965 he was Vice-president of Automobile Loans with Northwestern Bank in St. Louis. Mr. Pursley was employed with Ford Motor Company Universal Credit for several years before serving in a glider factory in St. Louis during World War II.
