Frances Henrietta Ash, 93, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016, in Holts Summit. She was born on May 31, 1923, in Taos, Mo., the daughter of the late Ben and Augusta Eiken Thessen. She was married in 1944 to Bill Wilbers. On November 18, 1949, she was married to Mancil C. Ash who preceded her in death on May 5, 2002. In her earlier years she worked for Oberman Pants Company, Tweedy Shoe Company, and a defense plant. She spent nearly forty years operating an in-home day-care, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and gardening. Survivors include nine children, Rick (Sylvia) Wilbers, Holts Summit; Kay Wilbers Schrimpf, Holts Summit; Cheryl (Bill) Wilson, New Bloomfield; Daryl (Sue) Ash, Holts Summit; Lana Wiebold, Wardsville; Randy Ash, Holts Summit; Lisa (Vince) Schuster, Holts Summit; Jill (Mark) Kepner, Holts Summit; Troy (Anne) Ash, New Bloomfield; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; with three great-grandsons on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edna Luadzers, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mancil Ash; a son, Gary Wilbers; a great-grandson, Dallen Rackers; and a son-in-law, Dennis Schrimpf. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit, with the Rev. Joseph Corel officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8th, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Mothers Against Drunk Driving; or St. Andrew Catholic Church.
