FRANK RICHARD SCHONHARDT

February 8, 1944 — April 4, 2012

Frank R. Schonhardt, 68, of Hartsburg, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born on February 8, 1944, in St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Edward and June Catherine Ford Schonhardt.
He was united in marriage on June 9, 1973, in Ferguson, Mo., to Kathleen J. Menges who survives at the home.
Frank was a United States Navy veteran serving on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam Era.
Frank spent most of his career as an IT Professional and was retired from the State of Missouri and Rose International.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit.
Keeping in line with a lifetime of kindness and giving, Franks final act of generosity was to donate his body to the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Other survivors include: five children, Kurt (Shalon) Schonhardt, Jefferson City; Jill (Eric) Oliver, Bloomington, Il.; Erik Schonhardt, Bonne Terre, Mo.; Anne (Kevin) Heyen, Ashland; Todd (Andrea) Schonhardt, Jefferson City; ten grandchildren, Ethan Oliver, Aidan Oliver, Elliott Oliver, Morgan Schonhardt, Riley Schonhardt, Alex Schonhardt, Henry Heyen, Annelise Oliver, Jayson Schonhardt, Peter Heyen; two sisters, Mary (Gage) Parrish; Catherine (Chris) Parrish; and two brothers, Christopher (Julice) Schonhardt and Michael (Pam) Schonhardt.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Holts Summit, with the Rev Msgr. Gregory L. Higley, officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew Parish Hall with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to The Carle Foundation ECHO (Expanding Childrens Hearing Opportunities) Program or to the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.
