December 2, 1918 — July 29, 2012

Frank Christopher Holzer, 94, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Those who knew Frank experienced his dry humor and quick wit. Frank was an honorable and honest man who leaves a legacy of love and grace to his family and the world. Frank was a joy to all who were around him.
He was born on December 2, 1918, in Henley, MO, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Katy (Goeller) Holzer.
Frank was a United States Army veteran who served during World War II in France and the Philippine Islands.
He was united in marriage on May 7, 1940, in Jefferson City, to Leona Maye Newman who preceded him in death on December 27, 2010. Frank was devoted to Leona and supported her in her last illness, dutifully visiting her, feeding her and just being there for her.
Frank was a hard working man and loyal employee who worked for Missouri Hotel as a cook as a very young man, worked and retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad as a clerk and during retirement, worked for Milo Walz Furniture Company.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Benjamin, who was killed in WWII, Leo Simon, Sylvester Henry; and two sisters Elizabeth Lizzy Johns and Matilda Tillie Kliethermes.
Frank is survived by his sweet baby sister, Lucy Luebbering of Rocky Mount, MO.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday August 7, 2012, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik, officiating.
