FAY INGRAM VOLKERT

Fay Ingram Volkert, 83, of Jefferson City, died Friday, May 22, 2009, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on November 2, 1925, in Murphysboro, Il., the daughter of Louis Alexis and Audrey Lou Pearl Smith Ingram. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1943, in Clayton, Mo., to Joyce Leonard Volkert who survives at the home. A homemaker all her life, Mrs. Volkert worked for Sears in Bridgeton, Mo in customer service retiring in 1996. She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Harry Richter, Jefferson City; two sons, Timothy Volkert, Hannibal; Brian Volkert, Jefferson City; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Lou Ellen and Michael Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Alexis Volkert. Private family services will be held at a later date. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
