Emma Ruth Bolten

Emma Ruth Bolten, 93, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Golden Living Center. She was born October 27, 1921, in Miller County, the daughter of the late Perry and Cynthia (Sons) Beard. She was united in marriage on August 3, 1945, in Kansas City, KS to John "Jack" Bolten who preceded her in death on September 21, 2001. During World War II, Ruth worked at an munitions plant in St. Louis. She later worked for Sears Catalog and Montgomery Ward Catalog. After her son was born she became a homemaker. Ruth enjoyed telling stories of her yearly childhood in Miller County, quilting, reading westerns, and playing word puzzles. Survivors include: two children, John (Pam) Bolten, Jr., Kansas City, MO; Beth Bolten (Doyle Reynolds), Foley, Alabama; two grandchildren, Brenda Schmidt Michelle Bolten; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Sarah Ann Bolten; three sisters; and five brothers. Funeral services were held Friday for Ruth's family at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.
