Edith Fay Hopkins

Edith Fay Hopkins, 88, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020, at John Knox Care Center in Lee’s Summit.

She was born February 6, 1932, in Bernie, Missouri, the daughter of the late Glynn Oral and Nezzie Pearl (Craft) Patterson.

She was a 1950 graduate of Bernie High School.

On March 7, 1954, in Bernie, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William Franklin Hopkins who preceded her in death on April 17, 1995.

Edith worked for the Missouri Bar Association and the Missouri Secretary of State’s office as a clerk in the publications department retiring in 1991.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Edith enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two children, James (Jean) Hopkins, Raymore, MO; Linda Hickman, San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Angela (Kevin) Griffel, Blue Springs, MO; Kimberly (Todd) Jett, Raymore, MO; Lauren (Patrick) Hickman McMahon, Ann Arbor, MI; Amanda Hickman, Denver, CO; and five great-grandchildren, Makenzie Griffel, Ryan Griffel, William Griffel, Sierra Jett, and Alexis Jett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a son-in-law, Bradley Hickman; and a brother, Billy (June) Patterson.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Pastor Trevor Dancer officiating. The service will be live-streamed for those who wish to watch remotely. The link can be found on Edith’s obituary page under Tribute Wall at www.dulletrimble.com.

The general public is welcome to attend the services while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are suggested while in attendance.

Entombment will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
