ELVIRA CANNON

August 21, 1939 — May 20, 2008

Elvira Mae Cannon, 68, of Jefferson City, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Autumn Meadows Nursing Home, Linn, Mo. She was born on September 21, 1939, in Belleville, Ill. to Herbert Phillip Reuss and Bertha Alice Rupprecht Reuss. She was married on July 23, 1962, in East St. Louis to John Hermann ODell Cannon who died on July 31, 2002. She was proud to have been involved in the Civil Air Patrol when she was fourteen years old. As a young woman, she enjoyed working at Woolworths Department Store in St. Louis. A homemaker, Elvira enjoyed letter writing, crocheting, playing games, and drawing. Survivors include: one son, James Bud Napier, Ogden, Kan.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Carol and Ken Altheuser, Jefferson City; Betty Campbell, Columbia; and Vicki Napier, Ivy Bend; three grandchildren, James Campbell, Leslie Campbell, and Lesley Altheuser; two step-grandchildren, Casey Bradford and Robert Bradford; and four half brothers and their wives, Joseph and Lula Napier, Versailles; John and Charlotte Napier, Jefferson City; Ronald and Jane Napier, Tipton; and Elmer and Janice Napier, Marthasville; and one half sister and her husband, Collette and Harlan Schwendeman, Warrenton. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Fred Napier, one step-daughter, Debra Bradford, and one step-granddaughter, Samantha Bradford. A Memorial Service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008 at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
