ELLA LOUISE PARVIN

Ella Louise Peck Parvin, 87, of Jefferson City, died peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Oak Tree Villas Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born on December 13, 1923, in Omega, Okla., to the late Hugh Valentine Peck and Clara Mae Cooper Peck on the homestead claimed by Ella Louises grandparents during the 1892 land run, which opened the Cheyenne and Arapaho lands in western Oklahoma.
Ella Louise was married on October 19, 1944, to Lester Miller Parvin, Hitchcock, Okla., who preceded her in death on November 11, 2001. The couple made their homes in Oklahoma City; Greenfield, Mo., Gladstone, Mo., Watonga, Okla., and Enid, Okla., before Ella Louise moved to Jefferson City upon her husbands passing.
Ella Louise graduated valedictorian from Omega, Okla., high school in 1941 and attended business school in Oklahoma City. She performed bookkeeping, billing, payroll and clerical duties for the Oklahoma social services department, private businesses and the city of Gladstone, Mo., before retirement.
Her lifelong passions were caring for family, geneology research and creating baby quilts for foster children in Missouri and Oklahoma. She made more than 1,000 lovely baby quilts for donation to foster children, and this heartfelt work provided many years of joy and purpose to her life. Ella Louise helped organize annual joyful family reunions. She prepared numerous family-history books which give her daughter, nieces and nephews wonderful knowledge about and connection to ancestors and the pioneer days in which they lived. These books also feature Ella Louises cherished personal recollections and family stories, which make our ancestors come alive for us. She also helped research and write a book titled, A Centennial History of the Watonga (Okla.) Area, 1892-1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Randolph and husband Roger, Jefferson City; granddaughter Stacey Lindsey and husband Craig, Derby, Kan.; three great grandchildren, Cade, Cason and Londyn Lindsey, Derby, Kan., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Lester Parvin, parents, three sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Wilkinson Mortuary, Watonga, Okla. Funeral services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Omega, Okla., Cemetery.
