Douglas Warren Berry, 64, of Jefferson City, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2015, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born January 5, 1951, in Quincy, IL to Stanley "Deacon" and Billie Lou Krueger Berry who preceded him in death.
He attended California R-1 School where he ran track, played football and basketball. He graduated in 1969, with a great group of classmates. After high school he attended Lincoln University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1974.
In June 1986, he married his best friend and lovely wife Jacquelyn Kay Duenow Kennedy. They enjoyed 28 fun years of marriage.
Douglas worked for Bonnie Plants (D & R Plants) as a grower for 33 years.
Doug also enjoyed a good cold beer, pheasant and quail hunting with his bird dogs, fishing, being outside and grilling. He had a great life with his family and with his many friends. Doug also enjoyed going to coffee as he was a member of the Panera Coffee Club.
In addition to his wife, Jacquelyn, he is survived by two step-children, Justin (Becky) Kennedy, Wilton, WI; Ami (Donnie) Mehmert, Jefferson City; eight wonderful grandchildren, Laurynn, Liam, Maddox, and Josie Kennedy; Riley Kusgen; Blaze, Roman, and Gia Mehmert; one brother, Craig (Sonja) Berry, Moberly; and two nieces and many great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2027 Industrial Drive, Jefferson City, with the Rev. Tony Alter officiating.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 Noon Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Calvary Lutheran High School in memory of Douglas Berry.
