DOROTHY LEONE HARVEY GLASSNER

July 6, 1918 — August 29, 2012

Dorothy Leone (Harvey) Glassner, 94, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at St. Joseph Bluffs.
She was born July 6, 1918, in Columbus, Kansas, the daughter of the late Ivan Harvey and Pearl (Stith) Harvey.
She was a graduate of Riverton, Kansas High School.
Dorothy was united in marriage in Boise, Idaho, to Richard Clyde Glassner who preceded her in death on October 27, 1991.
Dorothy settled in Southern California for over 50 years prior to retiring to the Midwest in 1991.
A wonderful homemaker, seamstress, and hostess, Dorothy was always active as a volunteer in her community.
She was past President of Long Beach California Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of El Bekal Ladies Shrine Club and El Bekal Nomads. Dorothy was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 65 years holding all offices in numerous chapters. While living in Jefferson City she was a member of Learning In Retirement and always enjoyed numerous trips with Central Bank Classic Club.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City.
Survivors include: one son and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Terri Glassner, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Emily Glassner, Shawnee, KS; and Katie Glassner, Jefferson City.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Marion Bud Harvey.
Graveside Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Lowell Cemetery in Lowell Kansas with Kent Trimble, officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, Mo 63131.
