DOROTHY ANN TURNER

August 17, 1936 — September 27, 2005

Dorothy Ann Turner, 69, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 17, 1936 in New Bloomfield, MO, the daughter of Mason Whittler, Sr. and Mattie Brandon Whittler. She was married on Feb. 13, 1957 in Jefferson City to Robert Wilson Turner who survives at the home. A 1954 graduate of Lincoln University Laboratory School, Mrs. Turner was employed for twenty-seven years with the Missouri Department of Revenue Division of Taxation and Collection, retiring in 1995 as Processing Audit Clerk. She was a member of Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Guthrie, MO. Other survivors include two sons, Michael Everett Whittler, San Francisco, CA; and Daniel Mason Turner, Jefferson City; one step-son, William Leonard Turner, Denver, CO; one brother, Arthur (Shirley) Whittler, Kansas City, MO; and three sisters, Helen Reynolds, New Bloomfield; Juanita Taylor, Jefferson City; and Ruby (Ernest) Smith, Columbia, MO; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Whittler; John Henry Whittler; and Mason Whittler, Jr.; and two sisters, Mabel Nivens; and Betty Lou Whittler. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Oak Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Guthrie, with the Rev. Marion Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
