DOROTHY ANN STEWART

Dorothy Ann Stewart, 81, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, September 11, 2004, at John Knox Village, Lees Summit. She was born on December 22, 1922, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Henry S. and Dolly Crum Wallendorf. She was married on March 8, 1943 in Kansas City to Donald E. Stewart who died on July 9, 1982. A graduate of St. Peter High School, she was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City for several years, and retired in 1975 as a secretary for the Missouri House of Representatives where she had been employed for twenty-two years. She was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral; the Womens Association of the Church; American Legion Auxiliary; and Christian Womens Club. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Trudy and Thomas Portman, Springfield, MO; and Vicki Stewart, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Shayna J. Portman, Kansas City, KS; Neal B. Portman, Springfield, MO; and Jason Clark, Jefferson City; one great-granddaughter, Makaylia Clark, Jefferson City; and one brother, Henry S. Wallendorf, Jefferson City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at St. Joseph Cathedral with the Rev. Jeremy A. Secrist officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
