DORMA GRACE VANDAMENT

Dorma Grace Vandament, 91, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in Mokane, Mo., the daughter of Errett Louis and Linnie Magnolia Adams Thomas. She was united in marriage on Feb. 15, 1942, in Jefferson City, to Galen Boyd Vandament who preceded her in death on April 24, 1998. She was a dial service administrator with Southwestern Bell-United Telephone for forty-three years retiring in 1979. Dorma Grace was a member of First United Methodist Church, charter member of Jefferson City Womens Club, Zonta Club, and Christian Womens Club. During her membership with Zonta, she recorded 176 books for the blind. Survivors include her long-time friend and care-taker, Donna and husband Dave Bronson and her family, Jefferson City; Beth Gillespie, Belton, Mo; niece, Jeri Davenport, Newsport News, Va; cousins, Jan Thompson, Columbia; Tammy Barker, Shawnee, Ks; and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Hilty officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 201 E.
