David William Kempf, 54, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at St. Marys Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 27, 1951 in Boonville, MO, the son of Harold Herman and Mary Ann Schuster Kempf who survive in Boonville, MO. He was married on Feb. 5, 1977 in Lenexa, KS to Candace Lynn Johnson who survives at the home. Mr. Kempf was a 1970 graduate of Boonville High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Missouri in 1974. He was a Professional Engineer with R.W. Booker Engineering, St. Louis; Lutz Daily & Brain Engineering, Overland Park, KS; and was presently Project Manager with the Missouri Department of Conservation where he had been employed for the past twenty-eight years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church; Holy Name Society; Pilot Grove Knights of Columbus Council; Missouri Right to Life; Association of Conservation Engineers; and Operation Rescue. He and his wife served as volunteers with the Red Cloud Indian Reservation in Pine Ridge, SD from 1977 to 1978. He enjoyed bow hunting, canoeing, woodworking, and photography, but most of all his family. Other survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Lindsay and Joshua Korte, Hartsburg, MO; and Elizabeth Kempf and Margaret Kempf, both at home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Justin and Nicole Kempf, Los Angeles, CA; and Philip Kempf, Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Heidi Korte and Michael Korte; four sisters and their husbands, Mary and George Monnig, Glascow, MO; Linda and Eddie Wassmann, Boonville; Carol and John Stupica, Lees Summit, MO; and Elaine and Mike Campbell, Phoenix, AZ; and six brothers and their wives, Darryl and Nancy Kempf, Boonville; Jerry and Denise Kempf, Columbia; Chris and Roylene Kempf, Boonville; Charles Kempf, State of Texas; John and Cheryl Kempf, Boonville; and Greg and Lana Kempf, Boonville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Donald W. Lammers officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Carmelite Monastery, 2201 W. Main St., Jefferson City, MO 65109; Kempf Children Education Fund; or any Pro-Life organization.
