DAVID JOSEPH RICHTER, JR.

David Joseph Richter, Jr., 86, of Wardsville, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 25, 1926, in Wardsville, the son of the late David Joseph Richter, Sr. and Merle Valley Hausman Richter.
David was a United States Army veteran serving as a Medical Aidman.
He was united in marriage on May 24, 1952, in Wardsville, to Margaret Ann Bernskoetter who resides at the home.
David worked with the Local 945 Union as a carpenter for Prost Construction and as a carpenter for Design and Construction for the State of Missouri.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and was a charter member of the Lions Club in Wardsville.
David enjoyed farming, Cardinal Baseball, traveling, and bird hunting. His greatest love was spending time with all his family.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Margaret Ann; three children, Peggy (Donnie) Luebbert, Wardsville; Michael Richter, Wardsville; Keith (Kim) Richter, Wardsville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Luebbert, Mark Luebbert, Justin Luebbert, Kyle Richter, Megan Wilbers, Bradley Richter; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin (LaVena) Richter, Wardsville; and a sister-in-law, Regina Richter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Christopher Luebbert; a brother, Donald Richter; and his favorite dog, Scamp.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2012, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville, with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2 p.m.
