DARRELL WAYNE BAILEY

Darrell Wayne Bailey, 84, Jefferson City, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on May 26, 1923, in Dayton, IA., the son of David Samuel and Lillian Mae Bankston Bailey. He was married on January 27, 1946 in Ft. Dodge, IA., to Kathleen Kitty Mary Thayer. She preceded him in death on April 8, 2003. He was employed as a meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture for twenty years. He was also a self-employed upholster for twenty-five years. Mr. Bailey was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 35. Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce and Brenda Bailey, Florissant, MO; Dale Bailey, Jefferson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Lorrell Pingel, Jefferson City; two brothers and their spouses, Larry and Darlene Bailey, Burford, SD.; Gerald and Lavone Bailey, Pullayape, WA.; one sister Delores Kincaid, Rock Island, Il.; two grandchildren, Andrea and her husband Scott Miller and Aaron and his wife Kele Bailey; and three great-grandchildren, Gavyn Bailey, Roman Bailey, and Lyla Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, Lydia Charlene Donahe, Selma Gunther, and Rozella Shipman; and two brothers, David Bailey and Dean Bailey. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.
