Cletus "Clete" Francis Van Loo, 63, of Wardsville, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 22, 1952, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Clem Peter and Frances Mary (Sommers) Van Loo. Clete spent his entire life working and tending to the family farm. The produce he grew on the farm he would take to the local Farmer's Market to sell. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Survivors include: four siblings, Paul (Margie) Van Loo, Wardsville; Agnes "Aggie" (Tom) Grothoff, Taos; Jerome "Pooch" Van Loo, Columbia; William "Bill" (Judy) Van Loo, Jefferson City; his fiance, Debra Taber, Jefferson City; six nieces and two nephews; ten great-nieces and nephews; and his uncle, Alfred Sommers, Fulton. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, John Van Loo; and a sister, Anna Marie Van Loo. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville, with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Aja Johnson Van Loo to help fight cancer, in care of Jefferson Bank.
