Charles W. Jaegers

June 10, 1952 — April 25, 2013

Charles W. "Charlie" Jaegers, 60, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on June 10, 1952, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Leonard Peter and Helen Marie (Wankum) Jaegers. He was a 1970 graduate of Fatima High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Lincoln University. He was united in marriage on June 1, 1974, in Meta, to Sara Sue Kalaf who resides at the home. Charlie co-owned and operated Jaegers Accounting for the past 33 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge No. 513. Although he enjoyed golfing, in any weather, Charlie's passion was his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. He loved to entertain, bar-b-que, and any social occasion where he could laugh and spend time with family and friends. Spontaneous trips with his wife to visit out of town family were a great distraction from the accounting business he shared with his brother. He was a selfless, giving person who always found great reward in helping those in need. Other survivors include: four children, Bryan (Melissa) Jaegers, Olathe, Ks; Eric (Tiffany) Jaegers, Jefferson City; Sheila (Chad) Smith, Jefferson City; Joey Jaegers (fiance Jessica McNelis), Morris, Il; four grandchildren, Brennen Jaegers, Andrew Jaegers, Charlie Jaegers, Chloe Jaegers; six siblings, Robert (Helen) Jaegers, Jefferson City; James (Betty) Jaegers, Jefferson City; Joseph (Linda) Jaegers, Jefferson City; Nancy (Tom) Suthoff, Jefferson City; Diane (Mark) Boeckman, Jefferson City; Mary Jane Weigelt, Spokane, Wash.; and his in-laws, Tony (Cheryl) Kalaf; JoAnn (Joe) Farris; Eva Kalaf; Phil (Cindy) Kalaf; and Emily (Gary) Eggen. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Kalaf. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel Hilty officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Addition visitation will be 9:30-10:15 a.m. Monday at the church.
