Carolyn Evelyn Bax, 57, of Osage Bend, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born August 6, 1957, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Herbert Joseph and Irene Marie (Schmidt) Bax.
She was a member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend as well as the Ladies Organization and a participant with 40 Days For Life Prayer Vigil in Columbia. She was the family historian and was the hostess of many family gatherings. She was the caregiver for her parents for many years.
Her famous sugar cookies, mile-high angel food cake, and pink salad are among many family favorites. From being a "granny to a nanny sitter", she was a godsend to several neighbors and relatives.
Her hobbies included gardening, needlework, cooking, and studying family history.
Survivors include: four siblings, Elaine Brandt, Chamois; Janice (Steve) Bax, Jefferson City; Kenny (Judy) Bax, Osage Bend; Glenn Bax, Osage Bend; 10 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; expecting 2 more great nieces and nephews; and one aunt, Mary Jane Frank, Linn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; great-niece, Isabella Ames; a brother-in-law, James Brandt; and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be 2:30-5 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 2 p.m. Additional visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015, at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating and Deacon Fred Schmitz assisting.
Burial will be in the St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Cemetery.
