CLARENCE PAUL SANDBOTHE

January 22, 1930 — December 16, 2008

Clarence Paul Sandbothe, 78, of Taos, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on Jan. 1, 1930, in Vienna, Mo, the son of Herman John and Mathilda Rose Redel Sandbothe. He was united in marriage on July 1, 1950, in St. Louis to Vivian Snodgrass who survives at the home. He was a United States Navy veteran. Clarence was a carpenter contractor for over forty years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus in Taos, and Eagles in Vienna. His greatest love in his life was his wife, children, and grandchildren. The relationships between his entire family - include brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, and all the extended family - meant so much to Clarence and Vivian. He greatly enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and watching his garden and trees grow. Other survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia Christians, Redding, CA; Cynthia and William Mamer, Shrewsbury, MA; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Sandbothe, Hayward, CA; Roger and Kathy Sandbothe, St. Peters; Rick and Shirley Sandbothe, Elizabeth, CO; Randy and Claire Sandbothe, Wardsville; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Rosemary Kaskie, Austin, TX; Bernice and Jim Smith, Ballwin, MO; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ambrose and Mary Sandbothe, Chesterfield; Lewis and Nellie Sandbothe, Lake Ozarks; Arnold and Linda Sandbothe, Lake Ozarks; Eugene and Judy Sandbothe, Wardsville; and one sister-in-law, Norma Sandbothe, Vienna. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Emily Rose Sandbothe; one sister, Pauline Sandbothe; and two brothers, Charles Sandbothe and Raymond and his wife Virginia Sandbothe. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 7314 Rt.
