CHARLES LOUIS ROST

Charles Louis Rost, 89, of Jefferson City, died Thursday, December 16, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born on January 21, 1915 in Jefferson City, the son of Frank John and Margaret Mary Hentges Rost. He was married on September 5, 1964 in Jefferson City to Pauline Elizabeth Hadwick who survives at the home. Mr. Rost was a graduate of St. Peter High School and Jefferson City Junior College. He retired in 1982 from the Missouri Division of Health where he had been employed for thirty-seven years. Other survivors include one sister-in-law, Anna Marie Rost, Jefferson City; two brothers-in-law, Henry Jay Wallau and Clarence J. Hadwick, both of Jefferson City; seven nieces; six nephews; twenty-eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, The Rev. Lawrence Rost; Vincent Red Rost; and Fred F. Rost, Sr.; and two sisters, Helen T. Rost and Mildred A. Wallau. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2004, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Marion J. Makarewicz officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2004, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101; Helias Foundation, POB 694, Jefferson City, MO 65102; or a charity of the donors choice. He was a life-long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister and Usher. He was a charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club; an original member of the Capital City Duplicate Bridge; past member of the Dixon Drive Association; and was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus; Holy Name Society; and Missouri Public Health Association. Mr. Rost was a member of American Association of Retired Persons and served as an income tax volunteer; Central Bank Classic Travel Club; American Contract Bridge League; Travelers Protective Association; LaSalette League; and was a former officer of the Missouri Division of Health Credit Union. He enjoyed cooking for family dinners; was an avid golfer; championship bridge player; and loved all sports. He was also an enthusiastic computer gamer and computer financial record keeper.
