CECIL J. KRAUS

January 20, 1929 — September 27, 2005

Cecil J. Kraus, 76, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 20, 1929 in Jefferson City, the son of Joseph Frank and Emily Christine Hoelscher Kraus. He was married on June 24, 1950 in Jefferson City to Mary Jane Wilbers who preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2001. Mr. Kraus was employed as a mechanic with Shikles Pontiac; sales manager with Knipp Oldsmobile-Cadillac; and as general manager for twenty-three years with Schanzmeyer and Capitol City Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693; Roy Sone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003; American Legion Post 5; and served on the Board of Directors of the Lincoln-Mercury Dealers Association. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Survivors include three daughters, Ronda S. (James) Findlay, Jefferson City; Rebecca A. (Ronnie) Rowden, Wardsville; and Renee L. Kraus Christian, Jefferson City; two sons, Gerald D. (Joyce) Kraus, Jefferson City; and Michael W. (Linda) Kraus, Jefferson City; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary E (John) Bollinger, Jefferson City; and Sylvia R. Stiefermann, Loose Creek; and one brother, Raymond J. (Lucille) Kraus, Loose Creek. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilfred H. Kraus; Harry F. Kraus; and the Rev. Robert J. Kraus. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, Sept. 29th at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.
