Carl Edward Potts, 63, of Taos, MO, died Friday, May 12, 2006, in Callaway County. He was born on Oct. 18, 1942 in Fulton, MO, the son of Carl Wesley and Mary Jane Roark Potts. He was married on June 21, 1975 in Taos to Elizabeth Marie Betty Eiken who survives at the home. Mr. Potts was employed for thirty-eight years in maintenance with the Missouri Highway Patrol until retiring in 2001. He continued to work part-time for the Patrol during his retirement. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, and enjoyed outdoor work including farming, yard work, and spending time with his granddaughters. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and John Samson, Taos; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Michelle Potts, Centertown, MO; three grandchildren, Brooke Samson, Skylar Potts, and Paige Dooling; and one brother and four sisters, Robert, Eldon; Bettie, Fulton; Bonnie, Fulton; Norma, Jamestown; and Faye, Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Eileen. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Taos. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 15th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, POB 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653; or Masses.
