Boneta Ellaleigh Thompson

Boneta Ellaleigh Thompson, 78, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at her residence. She was born February 26, 1937, in Trenton, Missouri the daughter of the late Emory and Leona Grace (Dewitt) Kelso. She was united in marriage on December 29, 2007, in Jefferson City to Melroy John Thompson who survives at their home. Boneta worked as a secretary for Missouri Electric Co-Op and First Christian Church in Jefferson City. She also spent many years as a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, her collection of strawberries, and the color purple, Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their activities. Survivors include: three children, Kelinda Thomas, Kansas City, MO; Kellene Korody, Spickard, MO; Gregory "Kim" Persell, Palopinto, TX; two step-children, Dana Gonzales and Monica Thompson; six grandchildren, Kyle Thompson, Angie Bennett, Jennifer Findley, Cody Persell, Greg Persell, Brandy Quiroz; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lyndal Pulliam. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. Visitation will be 5-6 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City with the Rev. Thomas Vansant officiating. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Laredo Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to SSM Hospice.
