Benedict Herman Falter

Benedict Herman Falter, 73, of Holts Summit, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Oak Tree Villas. He was born on March 21, 1942 in Freeburg, Missouri, the son of the late William Fredrick and Theresia Zeta Reichel Falter. Mr. Falter served from 1962-1968 in the United States Army National Guard. In earlier years, he worked at Hilkemeyer General Store and Jefferson City Auto and in later years, he worked as the parts manager for Beck Motors. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2693; Freeburg Fire Department; Fire Department Association Past President; a charter member of the Freeburg Lions Club; and played with Freeburg baseball and softball teams. He was an avid Cardinal and Nascar fan, enjoyed westerns and loved visiting friends and relatives. Survivors include one brother, Anthony Falter, Warrenton; two sisters, Evelyn (Eugene) Bain, St. Peters and Veronica Sandbothe, Eureka; two brothers-in-law, Jim Wulff, Salem and August Wieberg, Holts Summit; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and was a father like figure to Craig Wolc, Mesa AZ. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rita Wulff and Laura Wieberg; infant brother, Joey Falter; brother-in-law, Harry Sandbothe; and sister-in-law, Betty Falter. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph S. Corel officiating. Military Rites will follow the service. Burial will be in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Friday with prayers at 4 p.m. at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Masses or St. Andrew Catholic Church Improvement Fund, 400 St. Andrew Dr., Holts Summit, MO 65043. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
