Barbara Ann Jungden

Barbara Ann (Scherer) Jungden, 86, formerly of Kansas City, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017, at Westphalia Hills Retirement Center. She was born August 25, 1930, in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of the late Theodore Oscar and Mary Francis (Carr) Scherer. She was united in marriage on October 16, 1954, in Kansas City, to John Arthur Jungden who died November 14, 2016. Barb was a X-ray Technician until she retired and started her own business making wedding dresses and bridal accessories. She loved spending time with her family and her friends in the crafty bunch group. A P.E.O. for sixty-seven years, Barb was initiated in Chapter DR, Kansas in June, 1950. After moving to the Sedalia area she joined Chapter LQ. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Case (Larry) Jefferson City, MO; a son, Brian Jungden (Maureen) Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren, Emily Walters (Matt), Sam Jungden, Lainey Jungden, Tara Jungden, Mitchell Case (Emmalyn), all of Kansas City, MO and Melissa Carter Case, Los Angeles, CA; two great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Samuel Walters, Kansas City, MO; one sister, Helen Ulibarri, Round Lake, IL; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Scherer, Fredricksburg, TX and Carol Scherer, Belton, TX; a brother-in-law, Don Ulibarri, Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Jungden; and two brothers, Theodore Oscar Scherer, Jr. and Douglas Carr Scherer. Family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Mt Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home & Cemetery in Kansas City with a funeral service and interment following at 10 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to P.E.O.
