BOBBIE HERBERT MARTIN

April 24, 1927 — January 8, 2010

Bobbie Herbert Martin, 82, of Jefferson City, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born on April 24, 1927, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Neal Robert and Anna Mae Meng Martin. He was married on Sept. 12, 1950, in Jefferson City to Catherine Frances Bernskoetter who survives at the home. Mr. Martin retired in 1989 as a Materials Analyst with the Missouri Department of Transportation. He previously was employed with DeLongs, Inc. for eighteen years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving during the Occupation of Japan, he was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1003. Mr. Martin had several hobbies including welding, gardening, woodworking, reading, visiting with his neighbors, drinking coffee at McDonalds, and his home on the lake. But he especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include two children, Diane (Jerry) Toebben and Dennis Martin, all of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Mandy (William) Kirk, Steve (Angie) Toebben, Matt Toebben, and Mitchell Toebben; and one brother, Norman (Leona) Martin, Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Linville Martin and Harry Martin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic School, 314 W.
