BLANCHE LUCILLE KEMNA

February 12, 1925 — January 21, 2008

Blanche Lucille Kemna, 82, of Jefferson City, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Feb.12, 1925, in St. Elizabeth, Mo., the daughter of Bernard Ben Fredrick and Alma Elizabeth Schell Oligschlaeger. She was married on May 25, 1946, in St. Elizabeth to Emil Conrad Kemna who survives at the home. She was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II following graduation from Tuscumbia High School in 1943. Mrs. Kemna was employed as head cook at Immaculate Conception Catholic School for twelve years and as a clerk for the Missouri Division of Medical Services for seventeen years until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a charter member of Mystical Rose Chapter of Immaculata Club. She loved playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilting, and playing cards. Other survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Bernard and Marilyn Kemna, Jefferson City; Michael & Mary Jane Kemna, Gallatin; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth & Daniel Strode, New London, Mo.; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel & Tara Strode, Jr.; Jeremiah & Michelle Strode; Brandon & Jennifer Hart; Eric Kemna; Nathan Kemna; Leslie Kemna; Joseph Kemna; and Stephanie Kemna; two great-grandchildren, Keegan Hart and Maxwell Strode; three sisters and their husbands, Helen & Donald Hirsch, Jefferson City; Jeanette Branch, Jefferson City; and Dolores & Kraft Ritter, Port Clinton, Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Marj Oligschlaeger, Aplington, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Jerri Oligschlaeger, Jefferson City; and Anne Oligschlaeger, St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jason Strode; and two brothers, Bernard Oligschlaeger and Gerald Oligschlaeger. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 23rd , at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, P.O.
