BETTY JOAN COCHRAN

Betty Joan Cochran, 90, of Jefferson City, died Friday, December 3, 2010, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born on September 20, 1920, in Linneus, Mo, the daughter of the late Willis Everett and Eula Rebecca Catherine Davis Moore. She was a graduate of Norborne High School in 1938 and the University of Missouri in 1942 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She was united in marriage on July 12, 1947, in Marceline, Mo, to Kenneth Brown Cochran who preceded her in death in June 11, 2002. Mrs. Cochran was a home economics teacher in Green City, DeSoto, Liberty, and Riverview Gardens school districts until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Alpha Delta Phi Sorority, Honorary Home Economics Sorority, United Methodist Womens of St. Louis, and the Harmony Class at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City.
Survivors include: two daughters, Susan (Russell) Rackers, Jefferson City; Sara Clarkson, Tipton; four grandchildren, Joanne (Ryan) Hatfield, Kansas; Kelly DeHaven, Missouri; Jill (Jim) Tallman, Indiana; and Brad (Leslie) Clarkson, Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Landon Clarkson and Adelyn Tallman. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Clarkson.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Dumas officiating. Entombment will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be 12 Noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 201 Monroe Street, Jefferson City, Mo 65101.
