BERNICE DEBROECK BLOCK

Bernice DeBroeck Block, 83, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on Sept. 27, 1923, in Wardsville, MO, the daughter of Leo George and Mary Ann Markway DeBroeck. She was married on Sept. 25, 1954, in Wardsville to Donald Oscar Block with whom she enjoyed fifty-two years of marriage. Mr. Block survives at the home. A homemaker, Mrs. Block was also employed with Missouri Farm Bureau, Iowa State Teachers College, and the Missouri Division of Aging until her retirement. She was a thirty-eight year member of St. Joseph Cathedral. Other survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Tom Price, St. Louis, MO; and Lisa and Mike Cavender, Jefferson City; two sons and their wives, Greg and Barb Block, Aldie, VA; and Doug and Jennie Block, Panama City Beach, FL; eight grandchildren, Charlotte (Ricky) Vigil; Kevin Price; Brett Cavender; Blake Cavender; Carleigh Cavender; Cole Block; Natalie Block; and Walter Block; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ray DeBroeck, Phoenix, AZ; Leo DeBroeck, Wichita, KS; and Harriet DeBroeck, Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Angeline Schepers; and three brothers, Carl DeBroeck, Fred DeBroeck, and Ed DeBroeck. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, at St. Joseph Cathedral with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
