BERNADINE MARY POETKER

Bernadine Mary Poetker, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born March 22, 1916, in Rogers, Minn., the daughter of Joseph Martin and Josephine Mary Hentges Distler. She was united in marriage on April 26, 1938, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins, Mo., to Joseph Henry Poetker who preceded her in death on January 1, 1998. A homemaker all of her life, she was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the Cathedral Parish organizations, the Legion of Mary, and the Harmony Grove Extension Club. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Louis Borgmeyer, St. Charles; Marilyn and William Temmen, Wardsville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Karen Poetker, Larry and Barbara Poetker, all of Jefferson City; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Lori ( Michael) Sandy; Cindy (Kent) Bentlage; Jeff Borgmeyer; Jill (Chris) Corrigan; Cathy (Brian) Francka; Jerry (Diane) Temmen; Tim (Jenny) Borgmeyer; Sara (Gary) Schad; Chad Temmen; Jason Poetker; twenty great-grandchildren, Michaella Sandy; Madeline Sandy; Caleb Sandy; Sam Borgmeyer; Ben Borgmeyer; Tyler Temmen; Ashley Temmen; Adam Kehl; Caysee Temmen; Randy Schad; Robyn Schad; Rosa Schad; Kendall Smith; Caitlin Bentlage; Jared Bentlage; Carissa Bentlage; Baylee Francka; Luci Francka; J.T. Francka; Josie Francka; one sister, Irene Kuebler, Jefferson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Clem and Rose Distler, California, Mo; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Distler; Agnes Distler, both of Jefferson City; and one brother-in-law, Emil Schwartz, Westphalia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Colletta Rademan; Rosemary Schwartz; Mildred Wankum; two brothers, Anthony Distler and Cletus Distler; one grandson, Greg Temmen; and one great-granddaughter, Sierra Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki Celebrating and the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt concelebrating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.
