Arnold Michael Rehagen

Arnold Michael Rehagen 81, of Jefferson City, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital surrounded in prayer by family and priests of the Diocese of Jefferson City. He was born October 18, 1933, in St. Elizabeth, the son of the late John and Mathilda (Lindenbusch) Rehagen. He was united in marriage on June 20, 1953, at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home to Juli Ann Dusheke who survives at the home. Arnold was employed by Milo Walz Furniture; worked 34 years for Missouri Highway Department proudly making and overseeing the fabrication of road signs across the State of Missouri retiring in 1990; and worked for 25 years for St. Peter Catholic Church as a custodian, painter and fix-anything guy. A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, he was a devoted father and husband who was proud of and faithful to his Catholic faith; was a faithful attendee of 7 a.m. daily Mass for over 50 years and Perpetual Adoration for 19 years. Arnold volunteered and coached Special Olympics Softball for over 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking; fixing any broken object; teaching and playing 10-point pitch with any grandchild, nephew or friend; St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams; supporter of Vitae Caring Foundation; and was a proud supporter and fan of the University of Notre Dame and Helias Catholic High School. In addition to his wife, Juli Ann, he is survived by six children, Michael (Paulette) Rehagen; Darrell Rehagen; Mark (Susan) Rehagen; Donnell (Shelly) Rehagen, all of Jefferson City; Maria (Mark) Micke, Wardsville; Deanna (Terry) Hunter, Joplin; 13 grandchildren, Rev. Mr. Christopher Rehagen, C.S.C., Thomas (Robin) Rehagen, Andrew Rehagen (fiance Marie Naylor), Stephen Rehagen, Maryssa Rehagen, Brooke Micke, Nicholas Rehagen, Matthew Rehagen, Ashley Rehagen, Lauren Micke, Benjamin Rehagen, Molly Hunter, Caroline Hunter; one great-grandson, Lukas Rehagen; three siblings, James (Carolyn) Rehagen, Jefferson City; David (Mary) Rehagen, Jefferson City; Berniece Schulte, St. Anthony; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosemary Rehagen, Lloyd (Ermine) Dusheke, Dorothy (Leon) Lants, Bernard (Shirley) Dusheke, and Judi Land. He was preceded in death by his parents; three grandchildren; four siblings, Leonard (Ruth) Rehagen, Norbert (Catherine) Rehagen, Edward Rehagen, Alverna (Herman) Buechter; and three in-laws, Harry Schulte, Willa Mae (Jack) Leisner, and Ronald (Anna Marie) Dusheke. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Additional visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory C. Meystrik and other priests of the Diocese of Jefferson City officiating and Deacon Christopher Rehagen, C.S.C. assisting. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
