Anna Rose Berhorst, 96, of Westphalia, departed this life on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Westphalia Hills. She was born December 20, 1918, in Westphalia, Missouri the daughter of the late Herman and Catherine (Fechtel) Wekenborg. She was united in marriage on October 15, 1940, in Westphalia to William Berhorst who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Anne's Sewing Circle, St. Ann's Sodality, Westphalia Historical Society, and Western Catholic Union. Anna enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, farming with her husband, sewing, making and quilting many beautiful quilts, and crocheting many afghans. Survivors include two children, Marilyn Kloeppel, Brinktown; Virgil (Darlene) Berhorst, Westphalia; one son-in-law, Frederick (Dina) Krieg, Westphalia; ten grandchildren, Sharon (Quintin) Muenks, Eileen (Victor) Rackers, Darlene (Gary) Schanzmeyer, Alice Krieg, Linda (Paul) Logan, Mark (Sandra) Kloeppel, Kylie Berhorst, Ryan (Leslie) Berhorst, Joshua and Kaycie Berhorst; one grandson-in-law, Ruben (Carol) Wieberg; two step-grandchildren, Trevor Fox, Angela (Steve) Toebben; 20 great-grandchildren; Matthew (Victoria) Muenks, Meredith and JoAnna Muenks, Jill (Austin) Bernskoetter, Jordan and Jared Rackers, Kathryn (David) Badami, Ross Schanzmeyer, Ashley, Ryan, Renee, and Raymond Logan, Diane, Gina, and Amanda Wieberg, Ethan, Katie, and Blake Kloeppel, Ashton Berhorst, Avery Quinn; 4 step-great-grandchildren, Braden, Carter, Noah, and Landree Toebben. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman on Dec. 4 1960; her mother, Catherine on Nov. 28, 1959; her husband William on Nov. 9, 1978; a daughter, Rita Krieg on June 14, 1993; one son-in-law, Thomas Kloeppel on Nov. 9, 2014; three grandchildren, infant John Kloeppel on Aug. 29. 1970, infant Diane Kloeppel on Jan. 3, 1972, Karen Kloeppel Wieberg on Nov. 27, 2006; two sisters, Josephine Wekenborg on May 31, 1933, Gertrude Renneke on May 3, 1994; and two brothers, Ben Wekenborg on June 15, 1983 and Gerhard Wekenborg on Feb. 16, 1998. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Westphalia with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Mark. S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Masses or to St. Joseph Parish, P.O. Box 116, Westphalia, MO 65085.
