Alice Mae Heisler

January 29, 1927 — November 11, 2016

Alice Mae Heisler, 89, of Jefferson City, MO passed away on November 11th at Oak Tree Villas Nursing Home in the presence of her loving family. She was born on January 29, 1927, in Folk, MO, the daughter of the late Gerhard H. and Mamie A. (Willibrand) Radmacher. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Grade School in Folk and graduated from the old St. Joseph Catholic High School in Westphalia, MO. Alice was united in marriage on May 8, 1948, to August Frank Heisler. They have celebrated 68 years of marriage. Married life began in Meta, MO. They then moved to Linn, MO and spent 50+ years there before moving to their current residence in Jefferson City. Alice was always focused on her family. She loved being with and hearing stories of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and there were always piles of new recipes to try lying around. She always sewed the children's clothes, especially making matching dresses for her three daughters. She enjoyed flower gardening and could make anything grow. She was an avid antique collector. In these past years, she and Gus took dancing lessons and loved getting dressed up and going to dances. The Big Band music was their favorite. Alice was also a survivor of multiple myeloma cancer almost twenty years ago. Her great-grandfather, John Radmacher, in 1883 gave a bell to the then new St. Joseph's Church Tower in Westphalia where it was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Alice fervently believed that it was thru the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary because of this bell that she was in remission from the cancer. She prayed the Rosary daily. Prior to her marriage, Alice worked for Universal CIT. After her children were all in school, she worked at the Linn Technical College for 19 years. She was a member of the St. Ann's Sodality at the St. George Parish in Linn and, more recently, a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Jefferson City. When her children were young, she was active in 4-H both in Meta and Linn. Survivors include her husband, Gus; three daughters, Gretchen (Robert) Lathrop of Kansas City, MO, Cindi (Carl) Doerhoff of Lohman, MO, and Valerie (David) Rapoff of Columbia, MO; one son, Kurt (Carla) Heisler of Versailles, MO; ten grandchildren: Jeff Lathrop, Christina Wilkerson, Adam Doerhoff, Danielle Doerhoff, Gabrielle O'Hagan, Justin Rapoff, Jordan Harres, Eric Heisler, Nicolas Heisler, and Olivia Heisler; nine great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and two nieces: Janette Rushing and Jean Marie Wilbers. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond Radmacher, and her sister-in-law, Anita Schmidt Radmacher Baumhoer. The family acknowledges with deep gratitude the services of Dr. Michael Dudenhoeffer, Dr. Joseph Rakestraw, and Dr. Ali Khojasteh. The family also wishes to thank Fr. Don Antweiler, Oak Tree Villas Nursing Home, and Hospice Compassus for their support. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14th, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1206 E. McCarty Street, Jefferson City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Cesar Anicama officiating. Private family entombment will be at the Resurrection Catholic Mausoleum in Jefferson City. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Immaculate Conception Church for masses on her behalf or to a charity of your choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Those wishing to email tributes or condolences to the family may do so at the www.dulletrimble.com website.
