Agnes Ann (Plassmeyer) Patton

May 14, 1920 — January 3, 2015

Agnes Ann (Plassmeyer) Patton went to her Lord and Savior on the 3rd day of January 2015. She was born in Freeburg, Missouri on the 14th day of May 1920, to Martin Plassmeyer and Anna (Heislen) Plassmeyer. After graduating from high school she joined the U.S. Navy where she served in Washington DC during World War II deciphering enemy codes. In 1947, she met the love of her life, a Kansas boy named Gene William Patton and she was sure this young handsome man was the one for her. They were married later that same year. After honey mooning in Washington State the young couple decided to settle down and raise their family there. The couple raised their three boys: Dan, Randy, and Tim in the small town of Prosser and later moved to Coulee Dam, WA. until Gene's death in 1989. To be closer to her family Agnes then moved to the Columbia River Gorge area. Agnes remarried in 1994. Agnes loved to cook meals and was especially good with her home made deserts. Agnes was somewhat of a social butterfly and enjoyed entertaining guests at her home; playing cards, and croquet with friends. Being from an earlier era Agnes loved making dresses for her grand daughters and western shirts for her sons and grandsons. Agnes is survived by her son's and daughter's-in-law : Daniel P. Patton and his wife Joann; Randall J. Patton; Timothy P. Patton and his wife Kathy. Five grandchildren: Tessera, Jena, Bruce, Pamela, and Teresa respectively. Five great-grandchildren: Sophia, Landon, JR, Adalinah, and Ruben. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband and her grandson, Jason Patton. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Agnes on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Main Street, Westphalia, Mo. with the Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Committal prayers with military tribute and salute for her service in the U.S. Navy will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. There will be a buffet style reception with a beer and wine bar at the Westphalia Inn following the graveside memorial. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home, Westphalia is in charge of the arrangements.
