ARTHUR RONALD LEE FULCHER

Arthur Ronald Lee Fulcher, 68, of Jefferson City, died suddenly on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Warrensville Heights, Ohio, following a family reunion. He was born on Dec. 3, 1940, in Centertown, Mo., the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Minnie Mae Driver Fulcher. He was married on March 1, 1970, in Columbia, Mo., to JoAnne Jenkins who survives at the home. A 1958 graduate of Lincoln Laboratory High School, Mr. Fulcher received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Drama/Communications from Lincoln University in 1962; the Bachelor of Arts degree from Ambassador College in Pasadena, Calf.; and the Master of Arts degree in Speech/Communication from California State University at Los Angeles in 1977. He was a Professor of Speech and Communications/Theater in the Fine Arts Department at Lincoln University for thirty-two years where he also produced and directed many plays annually. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Vietnam Era attaining the rank of Sergeant. A former member and Deacon of the World Wide Church of God, he was ordained an Elder at Grace Covenant Church, Columbia. He was a member of the National Speech and Theater Association. He had a passion for tennis, was an avid reader, and was a self-taught guitarist. Other survivors include two sons, Bryan A. Fulcher, and Brandon R. (Yan Guo) Fulcher, all of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Donald A. (Vi) Fulcher, Kearns, Utah; one sister, Gladys E. Holmes, Kansas City, Kan.; and many relatives in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Los Angeles. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harold Holmes. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9th, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at Second Baptist Church, Jefferson City, conducted by Pastor Art Dyer, of Grace Covenant Church, and Elder Gerald Beechum, of Kansas City, Mo. Burial with military honors will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Grace Covenant Church; Mid-Missouri Church of God; Lincoln University Fine Arts Dept.; or a charity of the donor’s choice.
