ANTHONY FRANCIS SCHULTE

Anthony Francis Tony Schulte, 74, of St. Martins, died Sunday, October 4, 2009, at his residence after a fifteen year long battle with cancer.
He was born on July 13, 1935, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Anton Henry and Catherine Josephine Distler Schulte. He was united in marriage on August 18, 1956, in Wardsville, Mo, to Rosemary Lorraine Bruemmer who survives at the home. In his early years, Anthony worked for McGraw Edison for nine years. Along with his father, Anthony worked as an electrician and plumber until his fathers death in 2000. After his fathers death, Anthony owned and operated his own well pump water system business until his death. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martins Mens Sodality, Knights of Columbus in St. Martins, and was a past member of the St. Martins Parish Council. Anthony was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play ball in the backyard and having family barbeques. He enjoyed playing pitch, throwing washers and horseshoes, mowing grass, and most of all helping others.
Other survivors include: five children, Jeanette (Jerry) Wilde, Taos; Michael Schulte and special friend Cathy Hershey, Holts Summit; Kenneth (Lois) Schulte, Springfield; Marvin Schulte and special friend Rayma Anderson, Jefferson City; Jerry (Sheila) Schulte, Taos; fifteen grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Abby, and Marissa Stuenkel, Jared, Amber, Morgan, and Shannon Schulte, Jason, Angela, and Kyle Schulte, Shyra, Daemian, and Skylar Schulte, Chad Sommerer; three step-grandchildren, Eric Wilde, Pam Lepper, Renee Vaught; five great-grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy and Laura Schulte, Hunter Stuenkel, Macy Sommerer; six step-great-grandhcildren, Gage and Alex Wilde, Madison and Justin Lepper, Heather and Hayden Vaught; six special friends, Stephanie, Lauren, Dana, Daniel Hershey, Colby and Levi Anderson; four sisters, Mary Ann (James) Dunn, Rosie (Butch) Distler, Dorothy (Robert) Bruemmer, Elizabeth (Steve) Dunn, and two brothers, Louis (Kay) Schulte, and James (Linda) Schulte.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon, Thursday, October 8, 2009, at St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church Building Fund, 7148 St. Martins Ave., Jefferson City, Mo 65109; or to Hospice Compassus, 2418 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, Mo 65109.
