ANITA SOPHIA WOODS

Anita Sophia Woods, 84, Hartsburg, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born on March 19, 1924, on the family farm near Morrison, MO, the daughter of Charles Cornelius and Hedvine Mary Thuli Boss. She was united in marriage on June 30, 1945, in Little Rock, AR., to Richard L. Woods who survives at the home. She attended Assumption Catholic School in Morrison, MO, and graduated in 1947 from Mary Wood Beauty School in Jefferson City. Prior to beauty school, she worked at St. Marys Hospital in the dietary department. She held a beauticians license for over 50 years. As a beautician, she owned Anitas Maranello Beauty Shop in Hermann, MO, and worked at the Elite Beauty Shop and Florences Beauty Shop. She also worked at Tweedie Footwear Factory and Von Hoffman Press. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Ritas Quilting Circle. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes three children and their spouses, James L. and Wanda Woods; Thomas E. and Margaret Woods; Patricia A. and George Seifert, all of Hartsburg; six grandchildren, Amy Woods; Sarah Hoshor; Levi Woods; Melissa Welch; Jake Seifert; Jason Woods; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Charles Hoshor; and one sister, Sr. Veronica Boss FSM, St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings, Alma Boss; Lawrence Boss; Alvin Boss; Selma Boss Doerhoff; Cletus Boss; Helen Boss Luebbert; Joseph Boss; and Eugene Boss. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Brendan P. Doyle officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
