ALMA EILEEN NORTHWAY

June 17, 1919 — January 13, 2010

Alma Eileen Northway, 90, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born on June 17, 1919, in Boone County, Mo., the daughter of the late Charles Dorsey and Gertrude Beatrice Coonce Shelnutt. She was married on Feb. 28, 1938, in Columbia, Mo., to William Gaius Northway who died on Dec. 11, 1999. A homemaker for most of her life, Mrs. Northway was employed for a number of years as a clerk with the Department of Revenue. A member of First Baptist Church, she greatly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, needle work, reading, and traveling, but most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Charles (Linda) Northway; Pat Northway Miller; and Bill (Rhoda) Northway, all of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bill (Velma) Shelnutt, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul W. Miller.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with Dr. Doyle Sager officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14th, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donors choice.
