ALICE VIRGIA WILLIAMS

April 11, 1920 — October 24, 2007

Mother Alice Virgia (Smith) Williams was received into this life by her parents, Mr. Henry Hines Smith, Sr., and Mrs. Willie I. Goodloe Smith on April 11, 1920, in Kensett, AR. Alice attended school in Fort Smith, AR, where she graduated from Lincoln High School. She liked animals and often had dogs and cats as pets. Some of her hobbies were sewing, cooking, and making sweet potato pies. Alice confessed hope in Christ at an early age while living in Fort Smith. She later relocated to Denver, CO, where she enjoyed membership at Bethsaida Temple Christian Center under the leadership of Dr. Earl O. Holiman, Pastor. She served faithfully at the church that she loved so dearly as president of the Usher Board, member of the Finance Committee, and member of the Board of Trustees. She attended Bethsaida Temple from the mid-1960s until moving with her sisters to Jefferson City, MO, in December, 1996. In 1997 she met Pastor Gregory and First Lady Deborah Reeves and began attending services at the Jefferson City Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Albert Nickens. She loved to testify about how the Lord saved her and filled her with the Holy Ghost. She was affectionately known as Mother Williams. She attended services faithfully until her health began to fail. On August 15, 1940, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Ernest Williams in Fort Smith, AR. They moved to Denver, CO, where Alice was a homemaker and later was employed at a childrens clothing store. They enjoyed 29 years of marriage until Mr. Williams became ill. He passed away in 1969. Alice departed this life on Oct. 24, 2007. She was 87 years old. She resided at the Jefferson City Manor Care in Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Henry Hines Smith, Jr.; an infant sister; and a sister, Mary Norma Smith Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Hattie S.
